GOD”S CHOICE

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 1:26-28
1 Corinthians 1:26–28 KJV 1900
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
INTRODUCTION:
Ruth Bell Graham recalls in her book, It’s my turn. that why china there was young missionary who was 28 years old. He was university graduation with good leadership qualities.
An oil was opening a branch in the area he lived and the they decided that he was the best qualified for the job. They offered to pay him ten times than what he got as a missionary but he refused. They continue to increase the pay and the benefits but continue to refuse.
Finally, the agent asked him “what will take to?” and he responded “ it is not the salary that is the problem. the salary is tremendous but it is the job. The trouble is with the job. The job is too little. God has called me to preach the gospel and I would be a fool to quit preaching order to sell oil.

Many times we ask ourselves the question: can God choose a person like me? I am a nobody and my life is a such a big mess. I’m poor and uneducated. We continue to discredit ourselves by thinking we are the worst of the worst.
Prior to Paul visit to Corinth, he had just spoken to the Greek philosophers ion Mar,s hill in the city Athens and Spirit of the superiority of God,s wisdom he spoke to the church in Corinth.

He chooses the foolish thing to confound the wisdom of the wise.
Weak things to conquer the mighty’
Despised things to confound the noble
powerless things to defeat the powerful
A noble lady by the name Countess Huntingdon, used her time, talent and treasure to John Wesley ministries. She one day said that she will go to heaven because of the M that is that scripture” not many noble are call” She would be amongst the few.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Discouragement:

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Like job, God will allow the devil to break us so that make us.
Part 3
We need to trust God because the end of a thing is better than beginning.
